Course of your canyoning trip

Appointments and equipment

Meet your guide at the Gorges du Loup car park (exact location sent by text message the day before). On site, you put on your 5 mm neoprene wetsuit over your swimming costume. Helmet, harness, lanyard, descender: all the technical equipment is provided and adjusted to your size.

Safety briefing

Your qualified guide will explain the basic techniques: jump position, use of the descender, communication signals. No technical jargon, just concrete information. Your safety is our priority.

Approach walk

Depending on the canyon, it takes between 10 and 30 minutes to walk to the starting point. It's a great opportunity to warm up and admire the Pre-Alps landscape from the heights.

The descent

And off you go. First slide, first thrills. Your guide goes first to show you the technique, then accompanies you to each obstacle. Jumps are always optional - you can go around them if you prefer. The pace adapts to the group.

Return and memories

Exit the canyon, return to the car park (sometimes with a short climb back up). Get changed and share your impressions with the group. If you opted for the photo/video option, get your pictures of the experience.

How much does a canyoning trip near Nice cost?

Visit 55€ per person for a half-day discovery trip (2 hours in the canyon, equipment included). The sports day package is 80€ for a 4-hour descent on more challenging routes. Paragliding + canyoning, an exclusive offer Wings, is proposed to 190€ for a full day of air + water.

Children can take part from 8 years on our beginners' courses (Gours du Ray). They must be comfortable in the water and able to follow the guide's instructions. Day trips are open to children aged 12 and over. There's no upper age limit, as long as you're fit enough for the approach walk and the descent. An ideal family activity for sharing thrills with your children.

Yes, it's essential. You need to be able to swim 25 metres and put your head under the water without apprehension. Some pools require you to swim a few metres before reaching the exit. If you're not comfortable in the water, canyoning is not the right activity for you.

Supervised by a state-certified guide, The risks are under control. We systematically check the weather conditions and water flow before each outing. Anchors are checked and equipment inspected. Accidents mainly occur during unsupervised outings or in unsuitable conditions. With Wings, You'll be working in an environment where safety is our absolute priority.

We supply 5 mm neoprene wetsuit, helmet, harness, lanyard, descender, canyoning bag - all the technical equipment you need.

You'll need to bring: a swimming costume (to be worn under your wetsuit), closed-toe shoes such as used trainers (they'll be soaked the whole way down), a towel and dry clothes for the return journey. Remember to leave your valuables in your vehicle.

From closed-toe trainers that you are willing to get wet and potentially damage. No sandals, no flip-flops, no new shoes. The ideal: an old pair of running shoes or aquashoes with thick soles. Rocks can be slippery, so a good grip is essential for your safety.

The season runs from May to September. July and August offer the best conditions: warmer water (15-18°C), moderate flow, long days. In May-June and September, neoprene wetsuits compensate for the cooler water (12-15°C). Out of season, the canyons may be impassable (flooding, water too cold).

For a half-day Allow 3 hours in total (meeting point, equipment, 15-minute approach walk, 2-hour descent, return). For a day walking time: 5-6 hours (approach walk 30-45 minutes, descent 4 hours, return). Take something to eat if you opt for the full-day option.

The Gorges du Loup are 45 minutes from Nice on the Route des Gorges (D6). Meet at the Pont du Loup or Bar-sur-Loup, depending on the route you choose. We'll text you the exact GPS location the day before your outing, once we've confirmed the weather conditions.
