Questions about your monitors
Why does Pierre-Yves also check paragliders as well as teaching?
Double safety. As the founder of Aerotech, Pierre-Yves knows the internal state of a wing inside out: porosity, lines, seams. That changes everything when it comes to teaching: he immediately detects abnormal behaviour in flight and knows exactly what to check. You're flying with someone who understands your equipment from the inside.
Pierrot comes from a circus background. What difference does that make to learning to paraglide?
Enormously. 10 years teaching circus arts = teaching precise movements, balance and stress management. Paragliding is exactly that: posture, fluidity, anticipation. Pierrot breaks down the movements like a sports coach, not just a pilot. The result: faster, safer progress.
How many people do you supervise per outing?
Tandem flight 1 person at a time (for safety reasons). Paragliding course Canyoning: max. 8 students per instructor. Canyoning: max 8 people per guide. We refuse to overload groups, even in high season. Quality > quantity.
Do you really know all the sites in the Alpes-Maritimes or is this just marketing?
We've lived here for 20+ years and we fly in and out 200+ days a year. Gréolières, Gourdon, Col de Bleine, Gorges du Loup, Clue d'Aiglun: we know every thermal, every water current, every rock. We NEVER take you to a site that we haven't mastered at 100%. It's our daily playground, not a catalogue.
If I book, will it be you two who supervise me or will I be supervised by outside instructors?
99% of the time, it's Pierrot or Pierre-Yves directly. In very high season (July-August), we can call on partner instructors (also DEJEPS), but we always supervise. You'll never be entrusted to someone we don't know personally.
