A typical course
How does a course work?
- Welcome and briefing
Meeting point at Gréolières. Programme presentation, weather check and equipment distribution.
- Theoretical courses
Before each session: flight mechanics, aerology, weather and safety. Theory is essential to understanding and progressing.
- Training hill exercises
Inflating, glider control, take-off and landing techniques. Repetition until mastery.
- Supervised flights
First big flights from sites suited to your level. Permanent radio supervision. We have several first big flight sites such as Gréolieres 1400 or Kennedy, Gourdon or Gréolieres.
- Debriefing
Video analysis of your flights, areas for improvement, advice for the future.

Frequently asked questions about paragliding
What courses do you offer?
Four options: Discovery Course (1 day, €200), Initiation Course (5 days, €700), Advanced Course (5-7 days, €750) and Southern Discovery Course (5 days, €800).
Do I need previous experience?
No, the Discovery and Initiation courses are designed for beginners. The Perfectionnement and Découverte du Sud courses require autonomous flying experience.
How does an introductory course work?
A full week alternating theory lessons (aerology, weather, safety) and practical lessons (training slope then long flights). You'll make your first solo flights at the end of the week.
Is the equipment provided?
Yes, all the equipment is provided: glider, harness, reserve parachute, helmet, radio. All you need is suitable clothing and good shoes.
At what age can you start doing an internship?
From age 12 with parental permission. You must weigh between 30 and 90 kg.
Where do the courses take place?
Mainly at Gréolières in the Préalpes d'Azur, 45 minutes from Nice. Other sites (Gourdon, Roquebrune) are used depending on conditions and your level.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The programme is adapted: theory, ground exercises or rescheduling of sessions. We never fly in bad conditions.
Can you do a paragliding internship while living in Nice?
Certainly! Our school Paragliding is 45 minutes from Nice, which makes it an ideal spot for progressing in free flight near you. Our Nice paragliding school is certified by the FFVL, with state-qualified instructors who will guide you from obtaining your pilot's licence to full autonomy.
Where can I do a paragliding internship in the PACA region?
The PACA Paragliding School Ailéments is located at Gréolières, at the foot of the Cheiron in the Préalpes d’Azur. It is one of the best paragliding sites on the Côte d’Azur for learning to paraglide: an accessible training slope, varied flying conditions and state-certified instructors on site.
