Good to know · Beginner? Rent first

There’s no need to spend €4,000 to €6,000 straight after getting your licence. We recommend renting for your first year (full package from €150/month) so you can fly regularly and work out exactly what you need. After 30 to 50 hours of flying, we’ll kit you out with the wing that’s truly suited to your flying style. And if you’ve rented from us, 10% of your rental fees will be deducted from the purchase price.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Rent or buy, full budget, new or used, test before purchase, lifetime maintenance and wing lifespan: everything you need to know before investing in your paraglider.

Should you buy your paraglider as soon as you get your licence?

No. We recommend renting for your first year to fly regularly without investing €4,000 to €6,000 immediately. Monthly rental from €100. This gives you time to clarify your needs before buying the perfect wing. If you're a beginner, our paragliding courses leads you to independence.

What does a paragliding rental include in the first year?

A complete ready-to-fly package (wing + harness + reserve) for €150/month or €720/6 months. School equipment regularly inspected, perfect for flying solo in your first year after certification. Rental per flight or per day also available.

When to buy one's first paraglider?

After 6 to 12 months of rental, when you have accumulated 30 to 50 hours of flying and you know precisely what type of pilot you are: leisure, cross-country, or hike-and-fly. That's when we equip you with the wing adapted to YOUR practice, not a generic wing.

How much does a complete paraglider cost?

Between €2500 and €6000 for a new wing alone. Add the harness (€400 to €1200), the reserve parachute (€600 to €900), the helmet, radio, and variometer: budget €4000 to €9500 for full equipment. By renting in the first year, you spread the investment intelligently.

Should you buy a paraglider new or second-hand?

Brand new for the wing (safety, warranty and maintenance – 50% off for life at Aerotech). We still offer a trade-in option for the harness and reserve. If you rented from us before purchasing, we will deduct 10 % from your rental fees off the price of the wing.

Can you test a paraglider before buying it?

Yes, if you buy through us. We don't let you invest €3,000 to €5,000 without being certain of your choice: flight supervised by a qualified instructor on our sites, full technical debriefing. If you've already hired from us, you'll also be familiar with our equipment and support. Any questions? Contact us via the page. contact.

How does the -50 % lifetime maintenance plan work at Aerotech?

Automatic and valid for life on all equipment purchased from us, in partnership with the Aerotech workshop at Gréolières (FFVL Paracheck® certified). Full service for €100 instead of €200, repairs at half price. You save €500 to €800 over 10 years. Details of the services are on the page paraglider revision.

How long does a paraglider flight last?

6 to 10 years, depending on use. With maintenance from Aerotech to -50 %, you can keep your wing in perfect condition without breaking the bank. Rent it for the first year, then make a considered purchase: this offers the best value for money over 10 years.
