Gréolières site (1,800 m altitude) - Take-off on site
Take-off is from the crests of the Cheiron, at an altitude of 1,800 metres. This free-flight site is recognised as one of the best in the Alpes-Maritimes thanks to its regular thermal updrafts and ideal orientation facing the sea.

The day before your flight, You will receive a confirmation SMS with the meeting place and time.

How do I get to the Gréolières take-off site?
The Gréolières take-off is accessible by road from the village, around 45 minutes from Nice and 50 minutes from Cannes. You'll cross the magnificent Gorges du Loup, which is already part of the adventure. Parking is free at the take-off site, and you'll receive the exact GPS coordinates by text message the day before your flight.
Why is Gréolières the main site for Ailéments?
Gréolières is our historic site, where we've been flying for over 20 years. The conditions here are exceptional: south-facing, regular thermal lift, and 360° panoramic views of the Côte d'Azur and the Mercantour. This is where we do around 80% of our first paragliding flights, as the weather conditions are favourable most of the year.
When is the best time to fly at Gréolières?
Gréolières enjoys an exceptional microclimate, with over 300 days of sunshine a year. In winter and spring, conditions are ideal, with regular lift and exceptional visibility. Summer is also ideal for early morning or late afternoon flights. Autumn offers incomparable golden light over the breathtaking scenery of the Pre-Alps.
How long is the journey from Nice or Cannes?
The journey is part of the experience, crossing the Azuréen hinterland and the Gorges du Loup. From Nice, allow about 45 minutes by the road to Vence and then the Col de Vence. From Cannes, about 50 minutes via Grasse and the Loup Valley. Free parking at take-off.
What is the minimum age for a first paragliding experience?
We welcome children from the age of 4 with our Child Flight package at €100. These flights are scheduled in the morning between 8am and 10am, when the air is calm and conditions perfectly stable. Our instructors adapt their approach to reassure the youngest and give them a memorable first flying experience. There's no maximum age, as long as you're in good physical condition to do a few running steps on take-off.
What is the maximum authorised weight for flying?
The limit is 90 kg, determined by the certification of our tandem equipment. Above this weight, the glider cannot guarantee optimal flight in terms of performance and safety. If you are close to this limit, don't hesitate to contact us to discuss it, and we'll find a solution together.
What should I wear for a paragliding flight?
Even in midsummer, bring warm clothing, as it's always cooler at 1400 metres altitude. Here's what we recommend:
- Closed shoes such as trainers or hiking boots (no sandals)
- Long trousers to protect legs during take-off and landing
- Windbreaker and wool jacket
- We supply an approved helmet and comfortable harness.
What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?
Safety is our absolute priority: if conditions do not allow you to fly safely, your flight will be postponed free of charge to the date of your choice. You pay nothing until the flight takes place. The day before, you will receive a confirmation or postponement text message. Conditions that prevent the flight from taking place include strong winds, thunderstorms or rain.
Can I give a paragliding gift voucher?
Absolutely, and it's a gift that makes a lasting impression. Our gift card is valid for one year, giving the recipient plenty of time to choose their ideal date. It can be used for all our packages, from the Child's Flight to the Prestige Flight. You can order it online or by phone. .
Is it possible to film your flight over Monaco?
The GoPro video option is available for €30 (included in the Prestige Flight). Your instructor will film the highlights of your adventure: the take-off with the breathtaking panorama, the flights over the ridges and the coast, and the soft landing. The HD file is transferred directly to your phone after the flight.
Can I learn to fly after my first paragliding experience?
If the baptism made you want to go further, then Gréolières is the ideal place for you to learn. Our paragliding school offers introductory courses for beginners, progressive flying lessons, and full training to obtain your pilot's licence. Each course is tailored to your own pace and objectives. You can also combine your flight with a hike in the Parc des Préalpes d'Azur.
