Two sites very close to each other, chosen depending on the day’s weather: Gréolières for the significant elevation gain and long flights, and Gourdon-Embarnier for a take-off from one of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’. South-facing, steady breezes and over 250 flyable days per year spring in this corner one of the most reliable in the Southern Alps.
The Loup valley is perfect for a lovely day out: the lavender and olive fields, the hilltop village of Gourdon, the Gorges du Loup and its waterfalls, or canyoning for the more adventurous. The neighbours are not to be outdone: people also come to fly from Vence.
What you discover up there never fails to amaze: the Gorges du Loup winding below, the hilltop villages of the Pre-Alps, the Mediterranean on the horizon and, to the north, the often snow-capped peaks of the Mercantour. A 360° panorama stretching from sea to mountains, which few introductory flights in France can offer. And to round off the day, the hinterland has plenty to offer: listed villages, Provençal markets, swimming in a lake or canyoning in the nearby gorges.

How does a paragliding flight work?
A straightforward and reassuring experience, supervised from start to finish by your state-qualified instructor. The location (Gourdon or Gréolières) will be confirmed by text message the day before.

Take-off & landing
Your valley seen from above, acrobatics as you choose, then a gentle landing back in the valley.
Once you’re in the air, you’re in control: take control Take a moment to try some aerobatics, or simply let yourself be carried along in silence. The instructor wraps up with a debriefing and hands you the video if you’ve opted for one. No preparation is needed — a few running steps at take-off are enough — and the flight can be tailored to suit everyone, from the most cautious to the most adventurous.
We fly Gréolières almost all year round: in spring and autumn for the most consistent thermals, early morning flights in summer, and on sunny days in winter. The flight slot is confirmed the day before by text message — which is invaluable when you’re coming from Bar-sur-Loup — and rescheduling is free of charge: you only pay for your flight once you’ve landed.
What if it's your first flight? No worries: no experience is required, the instructor takes care of everything, you just need to run a few metres into the wind and then sit in the harness. Children can fly from the age of 4, people prone to vertigo are often the most surprised (the sensation is nothing like a sheer drop), and everyone chooses their own intensity, from a gentle ride to acrobatics. Closed-toe shoes, long trousers, a windbreaker and a light jumper — it’s cooler at higher altitudes, especially at Gréolières. Sunglasses are recommended. Helmet and harness provided.
