The Gorges du Loup - The must-have classic
In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Préalpes d'Azur, the Gorges du Loup is the most famous canyon in the Alpes-Maritimes. Impressive waterfalls, emerald pools, natural slides: a complete circuit in a spectacular setting.
Access: 15 min from Vence, 30-40 min from Nice/Cannes, 45 min from Antibes.
Discovery trail: Natural slides, jumps from 2 to 8 m (optional), swimming in crystal-clear pools. Two 10-12 m introductory abseils. Suitable for children aged 8 and over.
Sports course: A series of technical abseils, jumps of up to 10 m and challenging sections. For those who want more intensity.
Le Riolan canyon - The most beautiful in Europe
Considered one of the most beautiful canyons in Europe, the Riolan is impressive with its 200m-high walls, vertiginous abseils and grandiose atmosphere. An exceptional day out for lovers of canyoning sporty.
Access: 1h from Nice, 1h15 from Vence.

Le Cramassouri canyon - Unique aesthetics
This small canyon with its unusual aesthetics offers an immersion in the heart of nature in an extremely sculpted environment. A few slides and abseiling in a magnificent setting.

Introductory level: Focused on discovering abseiling. Perfect for children as the water is really good.
Le Maglia canyon - The Italian adventure
In the Roya valley, on the Italian border, the Maglia canyon offers turquoise waters and an exceptional wild environment. A unique experience for lovers of spectacular scenery.
⚠️ Please note: Since storm Alex in 2020, this canyon is currently not passable. We recommend the Gorges du Loup as an alternative.

Introductory level: 2h30 descent in a magnificent natural setting. Less busy, perfect for groups looking for peace and quiet.

Course of your canyoning trip
Appointments and equipment
Meet your guide at the canyon car park (GPS location sent the day before). 40 minutes from Saint-Raphaël towards the Siagne or 1h15 towards the Gorges du Loup. On site, you put on your 5 mm neoprene wetsuit over your swimming costume. Helmet, harness, lanyard, descender: all the technical equipment is provided and fitted.
Safety briefing
Your qualified professional guide will explain how to progress: jump position, use of descender, communication signals in the canyon. Professional supervision to help you progress with confidence.
Approach walk
It takes between 10 and 30 minutes to reach the start, depending on the route. A great way to discover the Provencal hinterland.
The descent
First slide, first sensations. The guide leads the way and accompanies you at each obstacle. Jumps are always optional: you can go around them if you prefer. The pace adapts to the group, making for a convivial experience.
Return and memories
Leave the canyon and return to the car park. Make the most of your visit to discover the coves of the Estérel massif or the beaches of Saint-Raphaël before heading back!

What is the minimum age for canyoning in the 06?
Children as young as 8 can take part in our beginners' courses, such as Gorges du Loup, Gours du Ray and Cramassouri. The day courses are accessible from the age of 12.
Do you need to be able to swim to go canyoning?
Yes, essential. You need to be able to swim 25 metres and put your head under water without apprehension. Some pools require you to swim several metres.
Is canyoning dangerous?
Supervised by a state-certified guide, the risks are kept under control. We check the weather conditions and water flow before each outing.
What footwear should you wear for canyoning?
Closed-toe trainers that you're happy to get wet and damaged. Ideal: old running shoes not aquashoes
When is the best time to go canyoning in the Alpes-Maritimes?
The season runs from April to October. May-June and September offer ideal conditions. July and August are also suitable despite the heat, thanks to the coolness of the canyons.
How long does a complete canyoning trip last?
For a half-day: allow 3-4 hours in total (journey from Fréjus ~30 min to the Siagne, equipment, descent 2-3 hours, return). For a full day: 6-7 hours (journey, descent 4 hours, return). Pack a snack for the full-day option.
