Access: 30-45 min from Fréjus/Saint-Raphaël, 1h from Draguignan.

The Haut Jabron canyon - The perfect introduction

 

Nearly Castellane, Located at the gateway to the Verdon, the Jabron canyon can be enjoyed all season long, thanks to its regular water levels. Set in a unique limestone environment, this discovery course features slides, jumps and a 12-metre abseil.

Access: 1 hour from Draguignan, 1h30 from Toulon/Hyères.

Course of your canyoning trip

Appointments and equipment

Meet your guide at the Gorges du Loup car park (exact location sent by text message the day before). On site, you put on your 5 mm neoprene wetsuit over your swimming costume. Helmet, harness, lanyard, descender: all the technical equipment is provided and adjusted to your size.

Safety briefing

Your qualified guide will explain the basic techniques: jump position, use of the descender, communication signals. No technical jargon, just concrete information. Your safety is our priority.

Approach walk

Depending on the canyon, it takes between 10 and 30 minutes to walk to the starting point. It's a great opportunity to warm up and admire the Pre-Alps landscape from the heights.

The descent

And off you go. First slide, first thrills. Your guide goes first to show you the technique, then accompanies you to each obstacle. Jumps are always optional - you can go around them if you prefer. The pace adapts to the group.

Return and memories

Exit the canyon, return to the car park (sometimes with a short climb back up). Get changed and share your impressions with the group. If you opted for the photo/video option, get your pictures of the experience.

Our advice: The Gorges du Loup offer the best quality/experience ratio with an unrivalled diversity of routes.

You'll pay €55 per person for a half-day discovery tour (2-3 hours downhill, equipment included). The sports day package costs €80 for 4-5 hours. A paragliding + canyoning combo costs €190.

Children aged 8 and over can take part in our beginners' courses on the Siagne, Jabron and Gours du Ray rivers. They must be able to swim and follow the guide's instructions. Day trips are open to those aged 12 and over.

Yes, essential. You need to be able to swim 25 metres and put your head under water without apprehension. Some pools require you to swim several metres.

Supervised by a state-certified guide, the risks are kept under control. We check the weather conditions and water flow before each outing.

Closed trainers that you are prepared to get wet and damaged. No sandals, flip-flops or new shoes. Ideally, old running shoes or aquashoes with thick soles.

The season runs from May to September. July and August offer the best conditions: warmer water, moderate flow, long days.

For a half-day: allow 3-5 hours in total, depending on the canyon (journey, equipment, 2-3 hour descent, return). For a full day: 6-8 hours. Pack a snack for the full-day option.

Meeting points are set at the canyon car parks. GPS coordinates sent by e-mail and SMS the day before your outing.
