In your bag

What you bring

The list fits on four lines, plus a picnic if you are out for the full day.

A swimsuit

To wear under the wetsuit.

Closed shoes

Worn trainers, which will get soaked.

A towel

To dry off when you get out of the canyon.

Dry clothes

For the journey back, with a pair of dry shoes.

A picnic, for the full day

It is not included. It must fit in the waterproof containers we provide.

Nothing precious

Jewellery and valuables have no place in a canyon: leave them somewhere safe.

Shoes

Which shoes for canyoning?

Take closed trainers you do not mind getting wet and damaged. They need to grip well, because the rock can be slippery.

What works

An old pair of running shoes, or water shoes with a thick sole.

What to avoid

Sandals, flip-flops and new shoes. If you do not have suitable shoes, we can lend you some free of charge.

Not too tight

The neoprene socks we provide go inside them: leave a little room.

Nothing to buy

For an outing with us, there is no need to invest in canyoning shoes: your old trainers are enough.

Under the wetsuit

What should you wear under a canyoning wetsuit?

A swimsuit

That is all you need underneath: the 5 mm neoprene wetsuit protects you from the cold.

Water at 19 °C in summer

It is at 19 °C in summer, cooler in spring and autumn.

The same outfit for everyone

Women and men wear the same outfit: a swimsuit under the wetsuit.

Long hair tied back

If you have long hair, tie it back before putting on the helmet.

Prescription glasses

How do you go canyoning with prescription glasses?

Contact lenses are the simplest option. If you keep your glasses on, secure them with a cord and tell your instructor at the meeting point, as with any other particular need.
