Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, ideally situated between Monaco and Menton, is a perfect starting point for discovering the paragliding. At Ailéments, a small family-run business, we prioritise quality of experience.

In all transparency : We only fly at Mont Gros from December to early March, weather permitting. It’s a lovely spot with sea views, landing on Golfe Bleu beach, but its limited elevation difference means the flights are shorter.

The experience we really recommend is Gréolières : our core business since 2013, and what our customers who have visited both sites tell us they much prefer — over 1,000 metres of vertical drop, unspoilt nature, Mercantour views and the Mediterranean.

Roquebrune-Cap-Martin is fortunate to have the take-off on site : the Mont Gros (678 m), from where you set off facing the Mediterranean for a landing on the Blue Gulf beach, from December to early March. For the rest of the year, head for Gréolières and its over 1,000m of elevation gain in the mountains.

Where to fly from Roquebrune Cap Martin?

A winter flight with sea views at Mont Gros, or the ultimate mountain experience at Gréolières all year round — here are the two options, laid out clearly.

Our recommendation · all year round

Gréolières site (1,800 m)

What our clients who have visited both sites much prefer exceptional altitude gain of over 1,000 m, take-off in the middle of nature in the Azur Prealps.

Panorama 360° — Mediterranean on one side, mountain peaks on the Mercantour from the other. 30 min away via a scenic route.

Sea view · December → early March

Mont Gros (678 m) · on site

Lovely spot with a sea view on the Blue Gulf beach And a bird's-eye view of Monaco. Parking at takeoff (5 min walk).

In all transparency Limited elevation gain (500m useful), shorter flights of 15-20 minutes. Only when the beach is clear.

  • Monaco and the Rock in a bird's-eye view from takeoff
  • Le Cap Martin, Menton and the Italian coast
  • La Mediterranean under your feet until splashdown… on the beach
  • From Gréolières: hilltop villages in the Pre-Alps and peaks of the Mercantour

Two experiences in one, depending on the season: in winter, a sea-view flight on the Mont Gros, overlooking the Principality of Monaco and the Italian coast; the rest of the year, mountain flights on the Gréolières, with longer flights and over 250 flyable days per year. This double setup allows us to fly almost every day.

The area is perfect for a lovely day out: Le Corbusier promenade at Cap-Martin, the medieval village of Roquebrune and its castle, the nearby Italian border, or canyoning in the hinterland.

The view alone justifies the trip: under the wing, the Gorges du Loup and their cliffs, the wild plateaus of the Cheiron, the coastline in the distance and the first peaks of the Mercantour. A striking contrast between sea and mountains, particularly striking as you take off. And as the area is brimming with things to see — listed villages, gorges, markets — this first flight easily turns into a day trip.
