On the French Riviera, paragliding can be practiced almost all year round. This is one of the great advantages of our region: nestled between the Mediterranean and the peaks of the Grasse Prealps, the air is mild, the sky is often clear - with over 300 days of good weather per year - and our flying sites face due south.
Nonetheless, not all periods are the same. Depending on the season, the time of day, and the current weather, a flight can be very smooth or full of sensations, short and contemplative or long and ascending. Knowing when to fly means offering yourself the best of the French Riviera as seen from the sky.
Since 2013, at Gréolières, the Ailéments team has been introducing people to free flight over the Alpes-Maritimes. Our state-certified instructors (DEJEPS) know every mood of the site. Here, season by season, is how to choose the right moment – and understand the flight conditions that make the difference.
