With a Mediterranean climate and mountains reaching over 3000m, the PACA region is a must for nature sports lovers. Its proximity with Dignes les Bain, Marseille, Frejus but also Menton, Gap and Nice airport, allows you to go easily to these places of practice. Castellane and the Gorges du Verdon are important tourist centers that welcome you with numerous accommodation structures such as campsites, bed and breakfasts or hotels open from May to the end of October. In order to satisfy all desires and to discover different landscapes from the sky, different sites and paragliding take-offs are offered to you, less than an hour’s drive from the Verdon gates.

Greolieres, paragliding between the Mediterranean and the Verdon.
Gréolieres is a small village in the Alpes-Maritimes nestled at 840m against the Cheiron mountain. Its summits culminate at 1778m of altitude and make it a magnificent viewpoint on the French Riviera to the south and the Mercantour to the east. During your paragliding jumps we like to take you on a guided tour of our favorite playground, the Wolf Gorge, where we take you for great canyoning tripsthe reserve of the Monts d’Azur where you can admire majestic animals and the pretty perched villages of Coursegoules, Cipières and Gréolieres… We also fly regularly with the local fauna, eagles and vultures and early in the morning on
our discovery flights
you can see chamois and roe deer wandering around on the plateaus leaning against the mountain. Gréolieres has also the advantage to be easily accessible from Nice, Grasses but also Cannes and the whole French Riviera. Many of you come to spend a weekend on the French Riviera by landing at Nice airport and then come to enjoy the high country and its
nature activities
. We also like to recommend some very good village restaurants where you can eat after the flights, a way to enjoy the charm of the back country. In short, Gréolieres is a place not to be missed for nature lovers in search of sensations. The flight of the crests also allows us to realize the aerobatics that many of you ask us, we can realize if the height is suitable of beautiful acrobatics in front of the sea.

Many of you have come to discover the Verdon and its surroundings, a playground that stretches from Lake Allos to the Valensole plateau via Saint André les Alpes. First of all, let’s start with the lake of Allos located at 2228m, it is the biggest natural lake in Europe:

Summer sledging, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, climbing but also Yoga, fitness and wellness. The Verdon takes its source not far from the Lake of Allos it goes down towards Saint André les Alpes to form a first lake (artificial) and not the least: the lake of Castillon. In the summer season the lake is at its highest level, it leaves room for magnificent paddle rides but also pedal boats or simply swimming! You will find some nice wilderness spots by the water to picnic and cool off for the afternoon. Let’s continue this descent of the Verdon towards Castellanne, the touristic center of the area. You will find a very nice little market, a number of restaurants and nature sports bases to book your activities. Then lives the Gorges du Verdon where climbing, rafting, canyoning, hiking but also paragliding and via-ferrata. They lead to the lake of Sainte Croix and the villages of Aiguine and Moustier Sainte Marie which are also very beautiful places to visit. Very nice paragliding flights can be done from Mont Denier with a magnificent view of the Valensol plateau and the lake. And nothing to do with gyrocopter, paramotor or helicopter flights, paragliding is a unique feeling of freedom, the soothing calm of soaring through the air has nothing to do with motorized air sports. You are in direct contact with the elements and nothing can stop you!

Comment vous rendre aux portes du Verdon ?
Tout dépend de l’endroit où vous venez, de Grenoble nous vous conseillons de venir par la D1075 direction Lus-la-Croix-Haute , Sisteron et Digne les Bains, une route dans les terre fort sympatique. De Nice ou la côte d’Azur empruntez la route napoléon par Escragnolles ou Gréolieres direction Castellane. Vous croiserez surement la route de quelques bisons sur la réserve des mont d’Azur. En venant du plateau de valensol ou du Var il est judicieux de passer par Digne les bains ou Comps sur Artuby. Là aussi la route vaut le détour, à la frontière entre les trois départements du Var , Alpes-Maritimes et Alpes de Haute Provence le terrain de jeux est idéal.
Quelle période est la plus propice pour voler dans le Verdon ?
Le Verdon est tellement reputé que les touristes du monde entier se déplacent pour venir passer les vacances dans ce jolie coin de nature. Cela implique une forte fréquentation lors des périodes estivales, beaucoup de monde sur les routes , les activités sont souvent très prisées et les restaurants pris d’assauts. Bien sur les vols sont magnifiques en été mais si vous recherchez des moments plus calme tout en ayant accès aux activités nature alors le printemps et l’automne sont de très bonnes périodes.Les paysages sont eux aussi différents, les lacs scintillent, les couleurs d’automnes sont chaudes et rasantes.
Comment dois je m'habiller pour mon baptême parapente ?
Évidemment cela dépend de la saison, les vols sont possible toute l’année sur Gréolieres, il sera donc judicieux si vous volez l’hiver de prendre des habits chauds, des lunettes de soleil et des gants. Nous vous proposons aussi des baptêmes parapente à ski, il vous suffira donc de prendre votre équipement de ski habituel.Pour le printemps un pantalon chad et une veste sont de rigeur, l’été une tenue légere et sportive suffit amplement, si vous venez en short cela ne pose pas de problèmes. Pour l’automne les vols peuvent être aussi long et sous les nuages la température est plus fraiche, meme si nous vous fournissons une doudoune pensez a bien vous équiper !
