Draguignan occupies a strategic position in the Var, between the sea and the mountains. From the capital of Draguignan's hinterland, you can quickly access two exceptional paragliding sites: the Mount Lachens (the highest point in the Var) and Gréolières in the Préalpes d'Azur.
Le Mont Lachens is the roof of the Var. This mythical summit offers a take-off at nearly 1,700 metres with a 360° view over Provence, from the Alps to the Mediterranean coast. The aerology here is favourable to free flight, with regular thermal conditions from spring to autumn.

Two sites are accessible from Draguignan. Le Mont Lachens, Gréolières, the highest point in the Var at 1714m, is around 45 minutes away on the D955 towards Comps-sur-Artuby. The Gréolières site is around 1 hour away on the route des Gorges du Loup. The site is chosen according to the day's flying conditions, and you receive the exact GPS coordinates by text message the day before.
Mont Lachens offers a unique experience in the Var. It is the only paragliding site in the department where you can take off at an altitude of over 1700 m. The aerology of Draguignan and the Var hinterland creates favourable thermal conditions, with an exceptional panorama of the Canjuers plateau, the Gorges du Verdon and the Mediterranean.
The Var enjoys a Mediterranean climate that is ideal for hang-gliding, with over 300 days of sunshine a year. Spring (April-June) offers stable flying conditions with regular thermals. Summer favours early morning flights. Autumn is excellent for visibility and colour in the Provence countryside.
The journey is part of the adventure. To Lachens, allow 45 minutes, crossing the wild natural setting of the Canjuers plateau. To Gréolières, around 1 hour on the panoramic backcountry roads. Free parking at both sites.
From Mont Lachens, you can see the entrance to the Gorges du Verdon and Lake Sainte-Croix to the north. It's a unique panorama that combines sea and mountains in the same flight. The plateau of Canjuers, Europe's largest military camp, stretches out beneath you with its wild landscapes.
The limit is 90 kg, determined by the certification of our tandem equipment. Beyond that, the aerodynamic shape of the glider cannot guarantee optimal flight. If you are close to this limit, contact us to discuss it.
Even in summer in the Var, it's cool at 1700 m altitude. Bring closed shoes (trainers or hiking boots), long trousers and a windproof jacket. We provide an approved helmet and a comfortable harness.
Safety is our priority. If flight conditions do not allow you to fly safely, your flight will be postponed free of charge to a date of your choice. You pay nothing until the flight takes place. The day before, you will receive an SMS confirming or postponing your flight.
