The gorges du loup are full of surprises, with some exceptional jumps 10 metres high! Guaranteed to thrill nature sports enthusiasts as they discover some magnificent places.
I warmly recommend
This magnificent course in the commune of Courmes, opposite the hilltop village of Gourdon in the Alpes Maritimes, is ideal for an unforgettable day out. Take the plunge for an invigorating canyoning adventure in a lush green setting in the middle of the beautiful Gorges du Loup near the Riviera. You won't want to miss out on the first part of this canyoning trip, which is vertical, or even very vertical for the most intrepid, with its 65m spider thread waterfall under a light rain. It's a thrill and a spectacle guaranteed for you and for passing tourists, who will see you descend into this mineral vault amid the spray and perhaps even a rainbow.
Leaving from the village of Courmes, a typical hamlet overlooking the Gorges du Loup, this grand canyon is divided into two sections: the first consists of a series of progressive abseils, ideal for familiarising yourself with abseiling, followed by an optional 30m or 65m waterfall. A very vertical section in an exceptional setting of vegetation and minerals. We take a picnic with us and eat in the canyon halfway down.
The second part is nothing less than the famous Wolf Canyon: AQUALAND!
After two further 10m abseils we reach the Loup, of which Bes Courmes is a tributary. The Loup valley is lined with beautiful limestone cliffs and lush green vegetation. We put away the ropes and set off on a series of slides and jumps that can be adapted to suit your tastes. It's a very complete canyon, a great outdoor adventure in an exceptional natural environment that simply requires you to be comfortable with heights. The the perfect combination of the thrills of canyoning coupled with the invigorating joys of aquatic hiking.
Like the canyon du Loup, Bes Courmes is situated in the Vallée du Loup, very close to the coast and centrally located in the Alpes Maritimes department (06). Very close to Grasse (less than 1 hour) and around 1 hour from all the major towns: Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Villeneuve louvet and Antibes.
Access and meeting point are the same as for the Canyon du Loup. file of this one for more information or click on Itinerary to view your exact route.

A wonderful experience with Tom at the clue d'Aiglun.
Tom is really great.
We recommend it!
A great canyoning experience with Pierrot! There were 6 of us aged between 6 and 54 . Pierrot is very nice and it goes very well with children! Thank you
The Loup is the intrepid, tumultuous coastal river that has shaped the landscape throughout this area. The deep, verdant gorges along its banks are a mineral paradise for canyoning. There are three top-quality canyoning routes: Le Gour du Ray, the furthest upstream, Bes Courmes, the tributary, and the canyon du Loup. Such a concentration of canyoning in such an accessible geographical area, close to the coast, makes it a Mecca for canyoning in the south-east, but not only.
Nature sports enthusiasts will be delighted with caving, climbing, mountain biking and more. paraglidingYou'll be able to enjoy a wide range of activities, from mountain biking to hiking, all in a splendid setting with sea views. The typical villages perched on either side of the valley, such as Gourdon, Gréolières and Tourrettes sur Loup, are also a major attraction of this corner of paradise that is the Vallée du Loup.
It's a perfect blend of great verticality with its many abseils and fun with its endless buffet of jumps and slides in the aquatic section. So it's a great choice for a first day canyon, and what's more, it's modular.
After a few warm-up abseils, you can choose between a 65-metre abseil into the waterfall: thrills guaranteed, or an equally impressive 30-metre abseil out of the water. For those who are not fans of great heights, a via corda is also available on foot.
The water section is 100% à la carte, with nothing compulsory, jumps and slides as much as you like, interspersed with short sections of walking and swimming. A water ride with the feel of a totally natural aquatic leisure park.
Bes Courmes is the ideal combo for a complete and unforgettable first canyoning day.
The abseiling technique is fairly simple to learn, but there are some safety rules to observe to ensure that everything goes smoothly. Your qualified guide will explain and show you the appropriate techniques and the important rules to follow. He or she will also be able to adapt the route and equipment to suit each individual for maximum safety. The height makes the abseils potentially dangerous and can cause the less adventurous to lose their nerve, but your guide will be able to put you at ease and adapt to ensure everyone's safety.
With 5 friends from the FAC UFR STAPS, all thrill-seekers, we decided to do the Courmes waterfall with Ailements. We've all done a few canyons before, and this one really appeals to us, with its huge waterfall. After meeting our guide, we set off in our swimming costumes into the forest with all our equipment. One, two, three waterfalls, abseiling down one after the other until we reached the top of the big 65m waterfall. We wait in a cauldron that spills into the void. After a scissor-leaf stone to see who would be the lucky one, we're off: the gopro is on its way!
Faby is the first, the last recommendations of the pro and Banzai. The start is made in contact with the rock but suddenly it's the void with the waterfall on the head. There's a turn, the cliff, the void and the road with spectators in cars who stop in the middle, surprised to see guys coming down from the sky. The feeling, the adrenaline rush, is just crazy crazy crazy. It's time to eat, find a spot in the sun and replay the descent 10 times. After that, everything's going to be bland, especially as we've put the ropes away. Well, not at all, we go down one slide after another and jump in all directions. We can even do some of them again, and our instructor suggests variations - it's a total blast.
In short, a day of Foufada as we like it.
