Canyon of Saint-Auban
The Saint-Auban canyon in the Verdon region
La clue de Saint-Auban is located in the immediate vicinity of the small, peaceful village of Saint-Auban in the Alpes-Maritimes. This village, located in the Parc Naturel Régional des Préalpes d'Azur, faces due south under the thin rocky bar of Trecastel and overlooks vast fields. The setting is relaxing and the gentle slopes ideal for walking and climbing. The feeling of space and greenery is quite unusual compared to most other canyoning spots in the 06, which are often tucked away in rugged valleys where space is at a premium. Below the village at the meeting point, you'll find a bar-restaurant where you can relax after your car journey or canyoning trip in the Saint-Auban clue. You can also take the opportunity to visit this charming village. In addition to canyoning in Saint-Auban, there are a number of other activities on offer: hiking, the Terre des Lacs eco-tourism complex, mountain biking, visits to the village, etc.

The Saint-Auban canyoning course
It's an ideal route for people who don't want to waste time walking or taking the shuttle and who want to get to the heart of the matter fairly quickly for an intense experience thanks to the joys of canyoning.
From the meeting point under the village, you'll be in the mood straight away: as you climb with us and the participants in our Canyoning activityIn our shuttle, you'll be whisked away into the gorges of Saint-Aubanwith empty space above and beyond the road...
This trip down the Esteron river is fairly short and complete: a 5-minute shuttle is all you need, so it's quite enjoyable. Afterwards, a short walk with your guide will bring you into contact with the water.
Your instructor will help you get fitted at the right time and give you general safety instructions. He'll be there to help and guide you in a friendly and professional manner. The safety of your canyoning outing in Saint-Auban will be his constant concern: you will never be left to your own devices unless he is sure of what you can do. Whether it's an abseil or a tricky jump, there's always a way to make it as easy as possible and take a break if you're feeling overwhelmed.
The river obstacles follow one another without being interspersed with long walks. It's an aquatic course in a canyon, with jumps, slides, swimming and a few abseils. There is a magnificent waterfall.

TESTIMONIAL : The Saint Auban canyoning trip as seen by Charlie and Adeline
On holiday in August 2020 in CastellaneWe wanted to discover canyoning in a place a little less touristy than the Gorges du Verdon, which we visited by rafting and canoeing. We were tempted by the village of Saint-Auban and its Clue. Following an initial telephone call, we were able to meet Pierrot at the agreed time for a coffee while we waited for the other members of the group.
The atmosphere was immediately very good with 2 students Kilian and Martial and a teenager Nina. Adeline and I often climb indoors, so we're familiar with the equipment and abseiling. After a quick shuttle, we made our way down to the banks of the Estéron river, where Pierrot finished fitting us out.
The equipment is different because we use: a special canyoning harness so that you can slide down without getting damaged, static canyoning ropes and, of course, special neoprene wetsuits so that you don't get cold, as rivers cool off quickly in the summer. living-water mountain.
We started the canyon in refreshing water with the group. The guide knows the river inside out, which is reassuring because this canyon is a lot of fun and you don't quickly feel like you're in a water park, although you have to be careful, especially when probing a few spots to find out whether or not it's possible to jump.
We had a great time with a dense succession of jumps and slides. A few abseils, a magnificent waterfall, frogs... in short, unforgettable. We didn't notice the time passing in the Saint-Auban clue. From now on, every time we go on holiday, we'll try to do a canyoning trip.
TESTIMONIAL: Company canyoning day, by Maud
We work together in Sophia-Antipolis and once a year we have a great day out together. Management is very keen to motivate us and regularly offers us incentive and leisure packages in the Alpes-Maritimes department.
During this group motivation outing, we worked with service providers for the hike and the restaurant. For this company canyoning trip in the Saint-Auban clue, we were able to form 2 complete groups with Ailéments: Pierrot and Tom were our canyoning guides.
Canyoning is a great way to have a good time and expose the group to new situations. That's another reason why we enjoyed the outing: putting our team in an unfamiliar environment encourages team cohesion, challenging ourselves and looking out for the weakest.... Our employees were able to get to know each other better and forge strong links in such a context.
