On holiday on the Côte d'Azur for my best friend Caroline's EVJF, I'm in charge of organising the activities. Putting together a group of 6 girls But I think I've succeeded in my mission with flying colours! After a lot of discussion, we decided on a group activity that would be fun but not too daring and that would potentially appeal to all the girls in the group. I immediately thought of canyoning, which I've already done in the Verdon gorges a few years ago, which left me with some very fond memories. After doing some research on the internet, I went through the reviews and chose to contact Accessories. It's Tom's job to guide us into the hinterland for a day that promises to be a lot of fun, given how scared some of our girlfriends are! On Tom's advice, we opt for a canyon near Nice at Gours du Ray which should be suitable for beginners. On the big day, we met up with Tom, grabbed our gear and walked a little to the start of the canyon. This was our chance to get to know the guide, who immediately put us at ease. The girls, who were doing canyoning for the first time, asked him a thousand questions and we didn't even take the time to observe. the magnificent surroundings. Once everyone is reassured, we refocus and get off to a gentle start. The guide is patient and sympathetic, taking the time to reassure the less adventurous. Gradually we got our bearings and started to really enjoy ourselves. Some canyoning obstacles are impressive (especially the 10 metre abseil!) but we're all in and we're having a great time. We jumped, we laughed, we slid, we shouted - in short, we let off steam without looking like it, and it felt really good!
Caroline was delighted, as were the girls. We had a great time sharing, which brought us closer together, and Tom managed to pull off the crazy feat of catering for the whole group without leaving anyone out in the cold - well done for that feat! We're so happy with the day that we promise to do it again as soon as possible...
